word art

I want to hang some of this pop art on my wall.  I have be looking and looking for something fun to mix in with my family pictures.  It took me awhile to find just the right ones.  The number four I like because there is four in my family.  The street sign I want to customize it to my favorite places and streets.  Same with the I heart California, it would be I heart Arizona.  I have the link to some of the art so you can see there shop on etsy or download it for free.  The I love us art comes in four different colors and is free to download.  Enjoy, I know I will. :)

different kitchen and other decorating

I decide after strolling through Restoration Hardware that my house needed to flow better.  I love love this store! I came home with so many ideas from that place. Good thing they had a catalog to take home with me. Now at anytime when I want to escape I can flip through the pages and saver the design elements. If you have not been to Restoration Hardware  before the store is like a big house with each room designed in there latest style.  Here are some photos to give you an idea of what I love so much. I think it is because it looks; clean, classic, simple, rustic but modern too all rolled into one.

One trip inspired me to come home and change my design style. I started in the kitchen the red had to go.

Next was Bailey's room she has been begging me to change her room so it looks more like a teenager room. What Bailey you don't like all the pink and purple flowers with baby pictures around your room. How could this be? When did you grow up Miss Bailey?

A little black paint can make a world of difference.  Her white nightstand and  shelf was looking old and dirty. I think the black makes her room look older too. What do you think?

The last room I updated was Collins room.  I was not really feeling the blue bedspread anymore. The only thing I changed in his room was the bedding. Glad I did, it goes better with all the other black stuff in the room. I still have some more changes I want to do around the house. Subway art and pop art is my next project.  But it will have to wait because I am out of money for now. :)

chalkboard before and after

I made a chalkboard out of this cork board and frame. I loved the frame and thought that if I just painted it a different color it would look awesome. To make it I had a piece of wood cut to size at Lowes.  Then I bought a can of chalkboard paint, so easy right.  My plan is to have quotes and love notes on it for the kids and Clay to see.  What do you think?

dresser before and after

I bought this dresser on Cragslist with plans to use it for getting organized.  All this dresser needed was I little black paint, that baby blue paint was so ugly. Also I decided it needed new hardware to add some personality to it. At Target I was able to find some handles right in my budget for a $1.50. I love my new dresser.

Bare Walls

About three months ago I decided to take down all my pictures on my walls in the living room.  I never really liked the way I had arranged them in the first place.  So I decided it was time to make them look right for once.  I searched and searched the internet looking for inspiration.  After many weeks I found tons of ideas.  The only problem with these ideas were I did not have all the pieces to the arrangements.  So I have been looking to find all of the  missing pieces.  In the mean time my wall are still bare and now another month has come and gone.  This was suppost to take a week or two at most.  I hate when that happens, but I think I am finally getting closer.  Here is my inspiration that just tickles me pink to look at. :)
